With Reportel you can create podcasts by simply calling your AVM Fritz!Box from your (cell)phone. In the field you do not need anything except a working telephone line - just voice, no data connection.

You call your reporter number, speak your report to the answering machine, and after you finnished it will be automatically uploaded and published as RSS feed (podcast), HTML snippet and CSV file

The script is e.g. used for special reports on http://radio.sf-fantasy.de/Live/

Requirements

• one or more phones you will be calling from
• a fixed/landline/VOIP connection with spare telephone number
• AVM Fritz!Box (7170 and newer, maybe older ones, too) The script should be adaptable to other mail-sending answering machines that send the sound file attached ti the mail. Please send samples of your non-AVM answering-machine mails!
• Unix root server with SMTP server (postfix, exim, sendmail, ...) and HTTP server (apache, lighttpd, nginx, ...)
