For Free: this is open source - so you can solve the problem yourself
and submit a patch or documentation thus enhancing the product/documentation.
There are mailing lists available for users/developers, sorted by (major) projects.

- For simplicity's sake here my

These books are on my own "to buy" list - unless a friendly soul is faster than me... ;-)
- Material (Hardware)
- I'd need some material for testing and work for the various
projects. Currently that would be:
- Firewall appliances for testing & development, esp. Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Netscreen
- A manageable "big name" switch (Cisco, HP, Nortel) - in best case even a Layer-3 capable one... ;-)
- NAS appliance with/for 4+ SATA harddiscs and iSCSI targets
- 10-11" Linux Netbook with SSD
- A number of rack-mountable PCs (all of same type, x86 > 1GHz, 512+MB RAM,
network card) that can run Linux or *BSD for experimenting with clusters.
Ideal (but probably over the top) would be a blade center.
- Android 2.2 smartphone
So if you've got something like that (or parts) to spare - wow... ;-)
